Politics should be Radical

How I think government should work:

  • Pure democracy:  everything is a referendum.  No representatives.  No political leaders.
  • Rewrite our Constitution every twenty years

My personal political views:

  • Do away with land ownership.
  • Create a federal department of aesthetic integrity and diversity.
  • Do the same at lower levels of government.
  • With the supervision of this DoAIaD, The government will fund the construction of all new homes, after which the cost of homes will be dirt-cheap.
  • Limit the number of homes a family can have to one.  Once every member of society has a home, then each person can have as many homes as they want.  If at any point a member of society becomes homeless, then no family in that geographical region can buy an extra home until the homeless person has a home.
  • The definition of "home" will be defined rigorously to avoid loopholes in the above strategy (e.g. a rich person buying a hobo a box in order to retain the privilege of purchasing a new home).
  • Legalize all pornography distribution and consumption.
  • Legalize all distribution and consumption of non-personal information, whether physical or virtual.
  • Massively fund academic and third-party research on illegal activities (e.g. statutory rape)
  • Massively fund research on everything.
  • Legalize all drugs.
  • Provide all people freedom from exposure to other people's drugs.  That is, if a person is exposed to a drug, the person using said drug must obtain legally acceptable consent from the person who is being exposed to the drug, otherwise the use of said drug will be legally considered assault.
  • Replace our system of punitive justice with a system of restorative justice.
  • Eliminate all prisons.
  • Outlaw the death penalty.
  • Eliminate torture everywhere.
  • In the spirit of the US Constitution's fourth amendment, outlaw spying on citizens of any citizenship anywhere in the world.
  • In the spirit of the US Constitution's first amendment, eliminate all restrictions on speech, including those restrictions which are designed to protect the safety of our country and citizenry, and any restrictions on speech that is considered terroristic.
  • Anonymous and non-anonymous communication on the Internet should be governed by the same laws as govern real-life interactions.
  • In the spirit of the US Constitution's third amendment, explicitly give every individual exclusive rights to their thoughts and personal information.  That is to say, extend the notion of theft so that people's private information (e-mail addresses, personal pictures, identity, etc.) is considered their property until they, with legal consent, choose to distribute it.
  • Add a constitutional amendment that extends the right to marriage to apply to any two parties that can legally consent.  There should be no specifications on what constitutes a marriage in said amendment; the definition for the ability to legally consent should be made elsewhere, such as in state law.
  • Reduce our armed presence around the world to zero.
  • Work with foreign nations to reduce weapons stockpiles to zero.
  • Cease all aggressive foreign policies (e.g. wiretapping foreign leaders).
  • Respond with sufficient and competent diplomatic force to every foreign problem that has no impact on our country whatsoever.
  • Create a communist economy with huge (non-monetary) incentives for entrepreneurship.
  • Pure legal equality for all humans.  No person has more power than another person.  No person has explicit or implicit legal privilege.
  • All nonhuman animals with a nonzero degree of cognition have all of the rights mentioned in The Universal Declaration of Human Rights under articles 2 through 9, 12 to 20, 27, 28, 29 (parts 2 and 3), and 30.
  • Criminalize meat production.
  • Provide legal protection for technicians and companies working in the responsible genetic engineering of produce.
  • Provide legal protection for small farms and start-ups.
  • Give no advantages to big businesses.  Instead, require them to give back significantly to society.
  • If any nonhuman were ever to unambiguously express an interest to be a member of human society, by way of possessing some means of unambiguous communication, every other article in that Declaration would then be applicable to them.
  • For nonhuman animals that do not have the capacity or do not express the desire to join what is currently human society, confer to them one additional right:  the right to exist outside of and free from the operations and rules of human society.
  • Make it so that every activity of any subset of society is environmentally sustainable.
  • Preserve nature by all means possible.  Balance the value of biodiversity with respect for all nonhuman animals' rights, of which I have suggested the delineation above.
  • Legalize all genetic modification to parties who give their legal consent.
  • Make it easier for people to volunteer for risky medical testing.
  • Eliminate non-consensual animal testing.
  • Pour funding into a comprehensive program for the comprehension of Artificial/Synthetic Intelligence paradigms, for the purpose of setting the AI revolution off in a direction that leads to a scenario of commensalism--where preexisting life benefits from AI, but we have otherwise little impact on their agency.
  • Pour funding into education everywhere in the world.
  • Protect the longevity of life by creating sustainable biospheres at other locations in the galaxy.  Make life from Earth interstellar, then work towards making it intergalactic.
  • Develop forms of quantum-entanglement communication that allow us to communicate instantly with any party anywhere in the Universe.
